This is the official form that you will need to complete and lodge with Sue Hardy as your celebrant prior to being married in Australia. Filling out of the NIM is a requirement  but in itself does not book the celebrant for a particular time and place so please contact our office to confirm our avalibility prior to organising any wedding details.

This Notice must be lodged at the time of booking the celebrant and cannot be accepted less than one clear calander month prior to the wedding date. The Notice of Intended Marriage is valid, once lodged, for 18 months.

The Notice of Intended Marriage is an official government document and must be signed by the couple in the presence of an appropiately authorised person. The list of who is authorised to witness this notice is on the back of the form. The NIM must still be lodged with the celebrant 1 month prior to the wedding date regardless of who witnessess the signatures.

The Notice of Intended Marriage is a legal document and it is an offence to make a false statement on this form. Please contact our office if you require assisstance in how to complete the form.

Authorised witnessess for the couples signatures within Australia include,

An Authorised Marriage Celebrant,
A Justice of the Peace,
A Legally qualified Medical Practitioner,
A member of the Australian Fedral Police or the police force of a State or Territory,
A barrister or solicitor

Outside of Australia

Contact the Australian Consulate nearest you,
an Australian Consular or Diplomatic Officer,
a notary public (look in your local phone book)
